Privacy Policy

Last Updated: April 2, 2026

Overview

Bubblebook is designed for children ages 5–10. Privacy and safety are core principles. We do not collect personal information from children. There are no ads, no social features, and no accounts.

How Bubblebook Works

Each day, a child pops 5 bubbles to collect words. Those words are sent to an AI service (Anthropic's Claude API) to generate a short story. The story is displayed on-device and saved locally.

What We Send to the AI

To generate a personalized story, we send the 5 collected words along with the child's first name, age, and character description (as entered by a parent) to an AI service (Anthropic's Claude API). This data is used solely to generate the story and is not stored on our servers. We do not send location, device identifiers, email addresses, or any other personal information.

What We Store

On-device only: Stories, engagement data (pages viewed, words tapped), and session state are stored locally on the device using standard iOS storage. This data never leaves the device except for the word-to-story API call described above.

What We Do Not Collect

No Accounts

Bubblebook does not require user accounts. There is no sign-up, no login, and no personal data on our servers.

No Ads

Bubblebook does not display advertisements of any kind.

Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Bubblebook is designed for children and complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

Analytics

Bubblebook uses Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage events (such as stories generated and session duration) to improve the app. These events contain no personally identifiable information — no names, no device IDs, no advertising identifiers. Ad-related data collection is disabled. You can disable analytics by turning off the app's network access in device settings.

Text-to-Speech

Bubblebook uses Apple's built-in text-to-speech to read words aloud when tapped. This processing happens entirely on-device. No audio data is sent anywhere.
